Thermal analysis and management of proton exchange membrane fuel cell stacks for automotive vehicle

The thermal management of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is crucial for vehicles. This paper presents new simulation model the water-cooled PEMFC stacks automotive vehicles and cooling systems. system considers both stack compressed air through intercooler. Theoretical analysis was carried out to calculate heat dissipation requirements system. case study results show that more than 99.0% requirement stack; 98.5% water will be distributed loop. It also demonstrated controlling flow rate inlet temperature could effectively satisfy constraints. These constraints are differences in outlet temperature, fan power consumption, pump consumption. • Thermal Cooling includes distribution intercooler investigated. Regulations rate. Fan consumptions considered.
